Float switch contact concept
SenseaFloat specifications.
An engineering snapshot of what is being developed, what has been demonstrated, and what still requires validation.
Current values describe a prototype or design objective. Do not use this page to size circuits, select protective devices, determine panel cutouts, or claim marine certification.

Technical overview
Information current to the site’s draft release.
| Attribute | Current description | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Product | SenseaFloat | Development project |
| Use case | Marine high-water monitoring via float-switch contact | Design intent |
| Current evaluation controller | ESP32 development platform | Prototype hardware |
| Current evaluation screen | Approximately 2.1-inch round touchscreen | Prototype hardware |
| Sensor input | Two-wire dry-contact float switch | Design target |
| Input interpretation | Open contact → normal; closed contact / approximately 0 Ω → high-water alert | Current prototype logic; verify with actual sensor |
| Normal display | Teal / blue-green status, safe/normal message | Current UI design |
| High-water display | Red warning message | Current UI design |
| External alarm output | 12 V signaling is planned; final drive circuit, current rating, protection and connector TBD | Not validated |
| Product supply input | Voltage range, fusing and reverse-polarity protection TBD | Not finalized |
| Mounting | Enclosure, diameter, panel cutout and sealing TBD | Not finalized |
| Environmental limits | Operating temperature, humidity and IP rating TBD | Not tested |
| Harness and connectors | Final harness, pinout, colors and cable specification TBD | Not finalized |
| Standards and approvals | Marine compliance and certification status TBD | No approval claimed |
| Availability | Production date, prices and warranty TBD | Not announced |
* The planned 12 V alarm output is not a permissible direct connection to the ESP32 GPIO. A suitably rated and protected output stage must be designed and verified.
Items that must be finalized.
Electrical and protection
Qualified engineering review of input isolation, wiring protection, suppression, supply voltage, output load ratings, fusing and fault behavior.
Marine environment
Validated enclosure sealing, corrosion resistance, vibration, temperature limits and installation constraints.
System behavior
Alarm tests for switch failure, open-wire conditions, power loss, reset and fault indication.
Documentation & release
Production pinout, certified schematic, mounting diagram, printed instructions, warranty and regulatory status.
